Get out there and get your

steps for stroke in!

50,000 Step Challenge

Charity Partner

Proceeds from this year’s Steps for Stroke 50,000 step challenge will benefit the Rio Grande Valley Diabetes Association, an independent local, not for profit organization for Hidalgo County, Texas, that is tailored to providing education and prevention for people affected by diabetes.

What does diabetes have to do with strokes? Diabetes can increase your risk for many health conditions, including stroke. In general, people with diabetes are 1.5 times more likely to have a stroke than people without diabetes, according to the American Diabetes Association.

The Rio Grande Valley Diabetes Association will be working closely with South Texas Health System to help raise awareness for stroke in the community.

Physicians are independent practitioners who are not employees or agents of South Texas Health System. The system shall not be liable for actions or treatments provided by physicians. For language assistance, disability accommodations and the non-discrimination notice, visit our website.
